WAGON WHEEL NEWS

Snoop Dogg One and Two!

Wagon Wheel provided all the gear for lighting the original Snoop Dog's "Fatherhood", with his son Justin Nielsen manning the truck. Wagon Wheel provided such great service that they were hired for the second season, too.

Wagon Wheel Is a SuperHero!

Wagon Wheel was chosen to handle the lighting for the “Who Wants
To Be a Superhero?”, a new reality show for the FX network.

Lighting Desginer, Eric Sears said, “I know I can spend a day at the
location pre-lighting with Todd and he’ll realize my vision
throughout the entire shoot without me being there”.

This isn’t the first time Lighting designer Eric Sears hired Todd to
work a reality show. Eric has also used Wagon Wheel on “Meet the
Folks”, “Marry My Dad”, and “Pink Slips”.

On “Marry My Dad”, the package was on a long term rental. They
were able to store the trailer out of the way at the side of the
location house. This left the garage empty for production and the
crew could shoot in front and in back of the house without worrying
about having a truck in the shot.

This drop off ability of the trailer is especially useful for long-
term rentals. Talk to Todd about long-term rates.

Wagon Wheel Creates Shadows

Todd Nielsen was Chief Lighting Technician (Gaffer) on Shadows, a low-budget feature. Ninety percent of the production was shot in one location and the trailer was dropped and ‘hidden’ at the side of the house to allow exterior shooting without seeing the truck.

This isn’t the first feature for Wagon Wheel. Director of
Photography Dan Donley also used the package on two other low-budget
features. And additions have been made to the package to better
serve the low-budget feature producer.

“The package is now getting closer to a five ton package than 3
tons.”, said Dan. “Todd had almost everything I needed and what
he didn’t have, he got!”

Wagon Wheel Gets Studious

Wagon Wheel provided the lighting and grip package for another set of
Corinthain College commercials. These spots are shown nationally,
using a different school name depending of the region.

“The package is big enough to cover almost every need, yet small and
mobile enough to get through the tight shooting schedules.”, said
Producer Paul Jenner. “It’s exactly what I need at the right
price.”
